I am constantly teaching my daughter the concept of personal space. I am a strong believer that everyone needs a space that is theirs. A space to where only those that are invited can enter. I teach her to knock before entering. Ask before touching. And so on and so on.

In cyber world there really isn’t much room for personal space. I have struggled with what to share here and what not to share. I have struggled with the practice of people “lifting” my images from here and using them without permission. I have struggled with what is too much personal information and what is not. And mainly lately, I just haven’t had much to say that most folks that are not family would really care to read about. So with all that on my shoulders, I just haven’t posted anything. Thus my noticeable absence.

Finally I made a decision. Like most things, I have thought about it. Over analyzed it. Ponder it. Rinsed and repeat……This space is now my personal space. My place to share whatever comes to mind. With this new direction I have made some changes.

My header has different images. My recent travel images are now there. Now hot pink is my color of choice. Why…That is my girl’s favorite color. Her personal color. Yours truly looks a little different. I am short dark and sassy now. I actually have been for while.

The biggest change you will notice after this post hits the press, is that all future post will need a password to access them. In an effort to stay connected with friends and family, while we continue our military journey, I want to be able to freely share all the boring and exciting things that we do. The whens, the wheres, and way too much information shared. Which really isn’t safe to do without the concept of personal space being protected.

So where does that leave my commissioned work from client sessions and travel photography images?? Back on my online portfolio at www.sheliastone.com They have actually always been there, just not updated weekly like it should be. My site is still a work in progress with the updates, but in time I will get it there.

Thank you to all that have visited here and followed my journey thus far.

And because all post are better with an image attached…

Friends and family…Disney is coming soon!

My girl.

I used to love to find her little wet footprints on the bathmat. They were so little. I think it was when she was well after one year old that I even noticed them. Whatever the age was, I remember thinking, “I need to stop and find the footprints more often.” I mean every night, Tony would give her a bath. Every night, he would stand her up on the same bathmat. So every night her wet footprints were there, but I was just so darn busy doing other things to stop and notice them.

When we moved into this house, I specifically found a bathmat for her bathroom that would leave good wet footprints. I still love to sneak in there and see them. It is a reminder for me to stop, take a breath and enjoy the little things.

I must talk about them often or she sees me checking them out. Tonight when she finished taking a shower in our bathroom she said….”Mom you ready? Here come my little footprints!”

Then my girl, who just turned five, (going on 15) said…”Mom when I grow up and give you grand-babies, you can see their little toesis too!”

I took a picture of her little footprints from way back then on that blue bathmat. For the life of me, I can not find it. I wanted to show how far she has come in her little life. Instead I picked when she just started to walk. They grow up way too fast!

Here she is at just nine months old learning to walk.

And here she is just recently for her 5 year old mini session by good ‘ol mom, whom she continues to say I can not do the booty dance out in public because it is embarrassing. Oh she has no idea what is in store for her when she is older.

Stop and find the footprints.

Ciao

We recently went to visit some dear friends in 29 Palms. This is her backyard. So cool! They are now headed to the flat lands and pine needles for a bit then on to the East coast for a new backyard. I am so blessed to get out of my bubble and see all the backyards of the world.
