So I should be organizing the massive amount of toys sitting in the living room. Or opening up the boxes that sit there calling my name. Or maybe even fill out the claims form of all the crap they broke or scratched or destroyed. Or even write a little note, that a crate should only be used so many times before it is no longer able to hold its structure and then claspes from the roof unto folks things. Sure I should be doing all of those things, but really I just don’t feel like it. oh the mess…
Instead I thought I would share some really cool facts about the mystery picture from yesterday. Yall were right, it is blown glass. But not just any blown glass. This baby is the largest permanent sculpture of blown glass by renowned artist Dale Chihuly and is on display at the Children’s Museum in Indianapolis.
Check these stats out… over 3200 pieces of glass, weighs over 18,000 pounds and stands 43 feet tall. It is truly a site to see.
Here is my little version of the piece, but really it sucks compared to seeing it in person. I did not have a lens to capture the entire piece but you can see it on a larger scale on the website found below.
Dale Chihuly has also adorn the canals of Venice with his beautiful pieces of art. To learn more about him and his work go HERE.
To capture the images from yesterday I posted, I went underneath the art piece where there is a glass floor. Spectacular view. (here they are again, incase you missed them)

When we were up north visiting Tony’s fam we went to the Children’s Museum in Indianapolis. Man o Man, this place was awesome!!! It was the largest museum that I have ever been in. If you are ever in the area you must go see this place http://www.childrensmuseum.org/ They had the coolest rooms with exhibits and interactions areas. We stayed all day.
Here are some more cool pics from the day.
I put the stats on them for those that requested I do so…They are all SOOC, shot in camera BW with the Mark II and the 50 mm lens. BTW I don’t use flash because frankly I suck at it and havent taken the time to get familiar with it. As I always say..if it ain’t broke don’t fix it!
this train image was shot in pitch black. It had a white strobe light that would come on every now and then for effects. And yes the Mark II is really that AWESOME!! A non flash girls dream!!

My favorite room was the train. I really felt like I was back in the old days, standing at a depot waiting for the train to come through. The lights, the sounds, the movement. All so real.
Next fav place of mine at the museum was the fun house. Let me tell you, we all need one of these. If nothing else but for the mirrors. I looked HOT!! Skinny and HOT! Yes, indeed. This is must whenever I build myself a house.
I had a blast playing around with these ball mirror thingy or bobbers. Not really sure what to call them. I played the game of Where’s Waldo..but instead called it..Where’s Shelia…

Em’s fav place was EVERY room! the Lego room, the dino room, the construction zone, the house room, the water room, the castle room, you name it she loved it!! Not the mention the HUGE carousel that was in that baby!!
Anyhoot, ever in the area, be sure to check it out!!
