Ciao friends and family!

This blog is now my personal space.  My life as it happens.  A way for friends and family to stay connected while we continue our military journey from place to place.

In the past this blog has been mainly a space to write about clients and their families. I will no longer be updating this blog with my recent commissioned work.

In the land of cyberworld, I have been hesitant to write about my personal life.  In an effort to keep connected to my friends and family, while still maintaining my privacy, I will now have all future post require a password.  If you have not been given the password yet, please text me, use the contact form here on the blog or email me.

Q&A Wednesday: What’s in your bag??

I get lots and lots of questions on equipment and what I use.  I am a canon girl all the way!  My body is the 5D and I have a variety of lenses.  I have a few lenses that I take with me ALL the time…The 50mm 1.2 is by far my favorite lens right now.  I use it almost the entire time during my sessions.  I also have the 70-200mm 2.8, 24-70mm 2.8 and the Fisheye with me on every shoot.  I have the 580EX2 Speedlight…But I don’t use this very often…Maybe sometimes when shooting newborns in client’s homes…but normally it just takes up space in my bag…speaking of bags..to carry all my loot I have a Shootsac and the 7 Million Dollar Crumbler bag.  I love the Crumbler because it doesn’t SCREAM camera bag filled with loads and loads of high dollar camera equipment.  I also have a few battery packs, couple of 8gig CF cards and a back up body.

I like to keep it simple and easy…Some folks get all caught up in the gear…you know the ones…I have this and this and this and this and this and this…the list goes on and on…and they love to tell you the fancy names of them….. but really all you need is a good body with a deep understanding of how it works, a few good pieces of QUALITY glass (not quanity) and most importantly a great eye to capture it all!

Hope that helps a little.  :-)

Here is a young photog in the making..I told her to do what I do..and she did it well…

she does have a great teacher though at her finger tips 24/7...her momma…  She’s a keeper even though she is a Nikon girl!  LOL!!!

See you tomorrow..shelia

Pamela - Shelia, This is SO cool, love this shot! April loved it. Just 2 days ago she asked me, "Mummy can you google, 'how an 8 ear old can be a photographer'?" I told her, you just practice, practice, practice, compose your image well. She has my Nikon backup to use. I have to send this to my Mum and Dad, they are gonna love this! Thanks, what a surprise posting! P
