Ciao friends and family!

This blog is now my personal space.  My life as it happens.  A way for friends and family to stay connected while we continue our military journey from place to place.

In the past this blog has been mainly a space to write about clients and their families. I will no longer be updating this blog with my recent commissioned work.

In the land of cyberworld, I have been hesitant to write about my personal life.  In an effort to keep connected to my friends and family, while still maintaining my privacy, I will now have all future post require a password.  If you have not been given the password yet, please text me, use the contact form here on the blog or email me.

Happy Birthday to Me!

Today is the big day!! The Big 30!! Whoa Whoooo!

30 feels good!  30 feels fabulous!!  30 feels nothing like I thought it would!!!  I have to admit when I was 28, I thought holy cow I am almost 30!  But now that it is here…it is no big deal.

I am looking forward to seeing what this next decade brings.  This past one has been pretty freakin cool!  I graduated college, married, lived in Italy, lived in Japan, lived in Bahrain, had a baby, started my photog business, traveled all over the world, partied in Venice during Carnivale, was undoubtedly the sole sober person during Okterbest in Munich, sky dived, para glidedn Garmish, para sailed, and most importantly became a stronger, healthier and better person!

For past clients we have been celebrating the countdown for the past 23 days with huge discounts on prints and products.  I didn’t forget about all you other folks out there.  For the next 3 days only I will be holding another 30 something celebration that is open to all folks!

Here is the 411

-this is all about celebrating and embracing our age

-leave a comment below on what you think about the 30′s…  what makes them rock…what do I have to do in my 30′s…any wisdom to share….what was so special about your 30′s….and for my young bucks out there…give a shout out to your age..what makes it rock??

-subscribe to the blog (if you have not already) in the link above that says subscribe.

-I will use a “random” program to randomly pick a number.  The comment author will win a complimentary session with me and $30 in complimentary prints of your choice.  Don’t forget, you must be in my blog subscriber list to qualify.

-If the winner is in Okinawa, the session will take place in November 2008.

-If the winner is in Texas, the session will take place Feb-April 2009 time-frame.

So comment away…

Shelia!

Melanie - Happy BIG ONE!!! I'm lovin my 30s and I'm sure you will too!!! God Bless and here is to another 30 wonderful years!!! Love ya, Mel

Pamela - Happy birthday woman! I am on the other end of 30 and will be freaking about the big 4-0 in a couple of years. But my 30's brought me 2 babies, Californa living, new and old friends, Summers in London, great jobs, a trip to Puerto Rico. It also has shown me that life is very real, in some sad and some happy ways, but that's for another day! Have a WONDERFUL day and see you soon I hope P

Kim - Hey, happy birthday! I have been at least 30 for *cough* a coupla years now but honestly, still lie about my age. Sad, I know! But I always said I would be 25 until my son was old enough to catch on...he's almost six now so he caught on this year...mommy turned 26. You know what they say, it's not how old you are, it's how old you feel, right? I feel 25! I didn't do the cool things that you did in my 20's, but I did, get married - twice, divorced once, lived in Hawaii and Japan, was the lead singer of a country band and went on an MWR tour of Korea for 4 months, visited China, Canada, and Thailand, and got a GS job like I wanted. I'm hoping in my 30's I can say that I stayed married :), lived in Europe - visited Italy and France, started my photography business on a more permanent basis, and got my bachelor's (almost done!) and master's degrees.

Heather - Happy Birthday! I feel like my life in the 20s is nothing compared to everything you have done!! Really what new adventures do you still want to do?

Cambria - Happy Birthday, Shelia! Hope you have a great day! I don't have much wisdom to share about the 30's, cuz I'm still in my 20's (barely, but I'm hanging on as long as I can). See you soon!

Rene - Shelia, Happy Birthday...Hope you are having a great time with your family and friends back home.

Natalie - Happy Birthday! I have to say you definitely age with grace, you have a one-of-a-kind young at heart spirit. Your spunk and playfulness about life make you seem only 20. I turn 30 next year and have mixed feelings about it. After reading your post, I thought about everything I have done, and all I can say is WOW!!!! Thanks for making me realize that starting the 30's chapter in life is something to embrace. Hope you have a wild and crazy fun Birthday!

Shelia - Hey Mel! Cheers to another 30...Bigger airplanes with longer free falls...running with the bulls in Spain...eating more gelato in Roma....dancing in the fields of Ireland and hoping with joeys in Australia! (these are just a few more things i would like do in the next 30...a girl can dream right??)

Shelia - ciao ciao Pam! NO FREAKIN WAY! 40! You are definetly rockin the 30's! Thanks for the shout out! And yes there will be another lots more eating at my fav place...so get ready! See you soon!

Shelia - Hi there Heather! Oh there are way to many things on my to-do list...or what I like to call my Bucket List! Thanks for stopping by!

Shelia - Aloha Kim! I know the feeling..I have always said I would forever by 23...but the wrinkles give it away everytime! ahhhhh Hawaii...I would love to vacat there! ...Do tell more about this country band!

Tina - Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you!! Hope you had a wonderful day! Let's see...30's...just live like there is no tomorrow. Live in the present and not in the past. And dont worry too much about tomorrow!

Leslie - Hi Shelia! Happy Birthday to you! You are 30! No way! I am loving the 20's and I hope that I can do half as much as you have done before I am 30!

David - Happy Birthday Shelia! Eat lots of cake! Play lots with your kids. And give lots of kisses to your man!
