Ciao! Welcome to the blog-Upclose and Real

Sono Shelia!  To sum up...I am a mom that adores her little one, a navy wife and I gal that just loves her family and friends..Oh and this small little obession I have with Italy!  I am a lover of all things Italian.  The food.  The people.  The shoes.  The clothes that I will never be able to wear. The 4 hour mid-day breaks.  The slow life.  One day I will live there again.  And when I do you can bet my lens will go everywhere with me.  Because that is just what I do- document.  I document everything.  And that is what you will find here on this blog.  My journeys in life.  The day to day happenings here at the studio. My little one and all her glory. And of course images galore!!

There is no spell check or grammar check in my world.  My apologies up front.  If you like what you see, send me some love.  Comments make me smile and let me know I am not alone in this big big cyber world!  Plus, I just *love* meeting new folks! So don't be shy..I don't bite and neither will anyone else on this blogsphere..and if they do..I'll pull their hair!

Q&A: Who cuts your hair…

I know this is really weird to put on the blog, but I am constantly asked this…Living on Okinawa, it is a bit of a challenge to find a really good stylist.  Especially when you are going for a whole new look.  4 years ago before arriving on island, I had a fabulous cut by a super hip chic stylist in the states.  Then I did what most folks do here on island…put it off and off before diving into the pool of “who cuts your hair??” By the time I got the nerve to cut it again, it was a mop…no shape…no spunk…no nothing…I tried my chances with a couple of folks and desperately needed a life preserver…it was horrible!!  Then I found Yuko.  She is a local but speaks excellent English and the best part…she is NOT razor happy..She understands that our hair is different and can not withstand the wrath of the razor.

She has been cutting mine and Emmy’s hair for about 3 years now.  You can find her and her fabulous scissors at the Foster Beauty Salon.

Here is a sneak peek of what is to come..I love this image…I am super excited to meet miss Madison.  Cant even tell mom-to-be is due in a few weeks.

See you tomorrow!

Shelia
