Ciao friends and family!

This blog is now my personal space.  My life as it happens.  A way for friends and family to stay connected while we continue our military journey from place to place.

In the past this blog has been mainly a space to write about clients and their families. I will no longer be updating this blog with my recent commissioned work.

In the land of cyberworld, I have been hesitant to write about my personal life.  In an effort to keep connected to my friends and family, while still maintaining my privacy, I will now have all future post require a password.  If you have not been given the password yet, please text me, use the contact form here on the blog or email me.

Monday Ramblings #15

Happy Monday All!!

_________

Yippers that was me..I was the dork on the radio this morning!  Man I sound so different on the air.  The question was..”what does USO stand for?” …I soooo  had that one in the bag.  United Service Organization.  Anyhoot, I won 2 tickets to the ISA Festival.  Whoa Whoooooooooo!

_________

2 weeks down of the boot camp and 10 more to go.  Week two was a bit easier as far as how sore the muscles are.  everyday the scale continues to go down..Whaoooo Whoooo!!  may be .2 but hey that is still in the down direction. And  I will take it!

I made some yummy chicken enchiladas.  Super easy and I think pretty good for you too.  Saute onions and garlic and cook skinless chicken.  Shred your chicken as much as you can.  Make enchilada sauce out of the packet of spices and add a can of tomato sauce.  Dip corn tortillas in the sauce.  Add your chicken and onion mixtures and a bit of cheese.  Just a bit…Don’t go overboard with the cheese. Bake for 10 minutes.

I aslo made some “spanish” rice.  Cook whole grain brown rice as bag describes.  Then add thick and chunky salsa.  As much as you want.  This was super yummy!!

Seriously where oh where is the time going…T minus 58 days I will be 30 and T minus some number that is way to soon..my baby will be 3 years old!…

I know I have talked about this before..but i really feel like time is just flying by…Some of you planners out there have most likely started crossing things off your holiday shopping list.  Started wrapping them and hiding them in your not-so-secret places.  We always found my moms hiding spots.

__________

Speaking of the holidays…There are a few sessions available for my Holiday Card Session.  The Holiday Card Session is $80 and includes one set of custom holiday cards.  There is no retainer fee.  Simply an $80 fee for my time and a set of custom holiday cards.  A-la-carte purchases optional.

So I found myself in a awkward place…tony had a softball game and wanted me to take some pictures..not a big deal..something i can totally handle right? right.

Not as easy as it sounds..I didn’t bring my camera…instead he hands me a point and shot..and I was really stupefied for a bit..I was searching for a view finder..nope….shutter speed….nope….white balance…nope…iso…nope…aperture…nope….at least give a girl a focus..nope…

seriously you just point and shoot..just in case anyone else out there is a bit confused and didn’t get the memo…just hold the camera way out in front  and press the button and hope to the skies that your focus is on and the subject is still in the frame!  LOL!!

push pops +hubba bubba+ ring pops+ pink tutu+ blue eye shadow+ leggins+pink wig+ 4 cameras=good times 80′s style!

I had this corky idea to get some photogs together and have an 80′s theme shindig.  It was so much fun!  I must of used an entire can of hair spray trying to get the wave action going.  Shamelessly I found blue eye shadow in my makeup bag…Yes that is correct..I didn’t have to go out and search high and low..I actually had it in my bag.  But I have to say…I couldn’t find a scrunchie anywhere!

I have an entire post coming soon from the adventure..but here is a little sneak peek…

this would be me in the pink tutu…I really love finding abstract ways of taking self portraits…it is my way having images of myself but not really “be in” in the image….

funny story on the tutu…it of course is M’s tutu…i myself don’t own one..anyhoot..it went on easily..but getting it off was another story…lets just say scissors were involved..and the tutu…well…it will never be the same again!

and this is the pink wig…if you look closely you might just find Pam under it somwhere..I secretly wanted to high jack that wig..loved it!!! you can find Pam’s site here   http://www.ukreal1.blogspot.com/ … (she is working a brand spankin new site..super stoked to see it)  on the full post to come later you will see the wig in all of it glory..hot pink and purple!!!

and this would be kristin…she really knows how to 80 it up!!  you can find her photography work HERE

this was such a fun morning!!  more to come..so stay tuned!

see you tomorrow!

Grans - Nice pictures... the 80s ha, brings back some wonderful memories. You do own a tutu or two, when you come to TEXAS we will have to go through the cedar chest. Now, will they fit, that I do not know, but they just might fit Emm. There may even be some nice hats in the cedar chest just waiting for you to put them back own. Can't what to see the point and shoot pictures. Love and Hughs

bambi - Wow, point and shoot. Owen has mastered the point and shoot. He could give lessons (he's trying to convince us he can play with our camera and learn how to use it!). Man, I was hoping I had my weeks confused and you were hanging out this week in the 80's theme. Never got an e-mail with the official details! Maybe Next time!!!

Cambria Sandoval - Too funny! Thanks for making me smile on a Monday morning. I make tutus should you need a new one for Emm (or maybe just one for yourself!). Email me or check out my website!
