Ciao friends and family!

This blog is now my personal space.  My life as it happens.  A way for friends and family to stay connected while we continue our military journey from place to place.

In the past this blog has been mainly a space to write about clients and their families. I will no longer be updating this blog with my recent commissioned work.

In the land of cyberworld, I have been hesitant to write about my personal life.  In an effort to keep connected to my friends and family, while still maintaining my privacy, I will now have all future post require a password.  If you have not been given the password yet, please text me, use the contact form here on the blog or email me.

Q&A

Happy Hump Day!!!

Today’s question has come up more than once to say the least….

“I love your black and whites.  Do you shoot in black and white?? I see a lot of black and white photos that are gray and dark from other folks.  How do you get your black and whites to be so creamy and light?”

I actually shoot in color and then do the black and white conversions myself.  Yes one by one.  :-)   I first play with curves and levels to taste.  Then I use TRA by the Boutwell’s for my black and white action mix.  Not finished yet.  Then I tweak the image more with blends, layering and masking.  And then more times than none…curves and levels again..then end with a little bit of sharpening….There is no recipe that I can say…I do this then that..and this and then that…It is all about the individual image and I play around with it until I say..that’s it!

It get this question alot too….”I have an image.  Can you “fix” it? And then can you change it to black and white for me?”  Sure…if you have an image that you took…send it in…

see you tomorrow…
